Swansea City Council's funding of the Liberty Stadium is under investigation by the EU as well as Barca and Real Madrid.

I quite like the Swansea model myself, but I would expect Swansea citizens to make sure their Council was getting a fair return. If they're not, then questions should be asked and action taken.
A bit like looking into the state subsidisation of private nuclear power. I'm all for such subsidies being made public. While we're at it, what's an EU accountant's eye view of the HHP deal ?
Ain't going to happen, is it ? None of it. Hot air. Can you imagine the Spanish government taking Barca and Real Madrid to court. It would be another civil war.

If the idea is to prevent local authorities from doing lucrative deals for favored businessmen and using football clubs, their stadiums and their bank accounts as the tool for enabling large sums of money to be transferred from one to the other, it could be interesting!
