Here's a nice image.

There's about 65,000,000 people living in the UK.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The global population is about 7,250,000,000

In the UK we have almost 4% of global GDP but only about 0.9% of the global population.

More difficult to read than particularly interesting.

China, the world's booming big economy, has 20 times as many people yet has a GDP less than four times as big, the US on the other hand, the world's biggest economy, has about 6 times our population and an economy about 6 times the size.

Not sure when that was produced but I would venture to suggest most projections for 2015 would place us closer to Germany even before the VAG scandal, not that it really matters, our increases in GDP are gained at the cost of a reduction in GDP per capita and a transfer of an even higher proportion of the nations wealth from the poor to the uber rich, an increasing GDP is not a sign that things are actually getting any better for most people.

When I studied statistics back on Mars, I was taught such graphical story telling was always a more true representation if shown in the shape of a rugby union ball.
Apparently, it's something to do with social refraction and delayed solar lumiance. But what do I know. I just receive information, I don't invent it.

In the UK we have almost 4% of global GDP but only about 0.9% of the global population.

Here's one figure that might be of interest. The UK's land mass is 16/100ths of 1% of the worlds total land mass.

Didn't we do well!

I saw the Rest of the World X1 play against England a long time ago.. I could have sworn there were a couple of Brazilians and Germans in their side. They were a cracking team.
