The people of ATD let out a sigh,
for they all knew, the weekend was nigh.
The rules here are clear,
within them you may steer,
a must is poetic prose,
to keep yourself on your toes,
You must only post on Friday,
for them be the rules I've set today.

Friday is the time
You have to post in rhyme
I sit in my chair and ponder
What can I write I wonder
If only I was smarter
Alas I am just a farter.

Two days since the despot was deposed,
yet still no thread as to what was exposed?

Could this be the catalyst for peace?
Can the EU sort out Greece?

Do you have to write in rhyme
every time
It could get boring
with all this pointscoring
Is it worth the effort
F'it no

I woke early this morning,
with a warning from my alarm clock
Couldn't wait to get on ATD to see posts from Greenjock

Meeting tomorrow, Guild Hall,
What a ball! Hope everyone comes
Argyle fans from all over, sons and daughters, fathers and mums

Then at 3, we play Burton,
We cannot be certain of the score,
We have a couple new signings, so let's hope for goals galore!

I've just had a Tom tit
It smelt quite a bit
Could it have been the curry
That I ate in quite a hurry
Or was it the Indian Rice
That tasted of head lice

Of Exeter City, I've no titter nor tatter
i'm not drawn to comment on such faecal matter.

As for the meeting with Brent,
can anyone do my bidding an be sent?
someone go,
heckle and bellow,
so we can laugh re: where Newell went

As I sit here broken hearted
Newell's gone, he has departed.
But all's not lost on pBay
Newell's gone, the Daz way.

He'll soon be back to claim his chair
Sitting at home Park like a big gay bear.
Webb will be there at his side
Spinning Webs that he can't hide.

So when we look back at this time
We'll remember Newell as the swine.
And when we see Webb as Brent's waiter
We'll remember how he was a traitor.

Squirming uncomfortably amongst those far more etched in the entwines of the more enchanting echelons of the football league, downthetrack's pisspoor third tier partytime paled into pathetic insignificance comparatively with pafc...

(i promise this'll be the last one from my mobile, mods plz sort me title out-it just aint my style)

Well what was all the woe for
I thought it was funny
That there was no money
It was down the back of the sofa.

There once was a site on the web
Where posters asked things of Chris Webb
He threw out his toys
Returned to his boys
And everybody on ATD just got on with things like normal

A football club owner named Brent
Was worshipped wherever he went
ATD posters were blunt
your president's....

...and that's where I'm starting to struggle with rhyming couplets. Any suggestions most welcome. Rolling Eyes

I wandered lonely
as a crowd
Called on the Ultras
To sing aloud

Rise up ye Janners
in the Demport End
Newell has gone for a Burton
You might win again

I think I can say with some poise,
There appear to be 'jobs for the boys',
But it's Ian & Chris,
So we'll all take the piss,
Those Ultra's make soooo little noise.

There was an old fella called Nool,
His ambition was always to rule,
So he went to bed,
With a fella called Webb,
And now has a rash on his tool.

(i love this thread)
