Found this interesting. Does it ring true to those living on the ground? Is Devonport showing signs of regeneration (as opposed to gentrification)?

Would love to think that an inclusive way of economic thinking is taking root in the south-west.

No longer a resident, but a semi regular visitor. There's plenty of interesting grass roots stuff happening in Devonport and around the city, but hasn't there always been?

We're a long way from 'civilisation', we've always had to do stuff for our self. I wasn't really politically aware as a teenager, but the local music scene in the 90s was great. Yeah, you had to scratch around to find some of it, but that just made it all the more rewarding.

Janners can be miserable moaners (some will be along in a minute, I'm sure!) but they can also be proactive do-ers. Just one of the city's many wonderful contradictions.
