2020/ 21 Squad and Pre-season News

Anyone thought about/got any idea how close PAFC might be to the Salary cap? Bound to have a big impact on who Scouser might be looking to bring in.

I dont think anyone with the exception of Danny Mayor is on big money. Whatever signings we make now most will be loan signings with a percentage of the wages covered by the loaning clubs i feel.

Mayor needs to actually perform this season and at a higher level compared to last if he wants another high paying contract for the following season.
May well find the higher division suits him without the cloggers and hackers.

I thought Mayor played well, lag of goals but took two to three players out of the game, it a pity the rest of the team did not use the space this gave them.

I thought Mayor earned his corn last season was best provider by a mile.

There were a few occassions that i lost my cool over danny when he would rather run at 3-4 players than do a simple pass to a player in space.

He has to make good on his creativity and goalscoring part of his game in this league as we re going to need him and he also shouldnt be our only source of creativity in that team.

1 Left Wing Back

*maybe another Left Wing Back also if Ryan Law isn't showing he could step up or needs another loan out before hand like with Jephcott or certainly one who could play on the right also would be a help.

** As George Cooper isnt coming back, someone who can create and play make too could also be on the cards as we cant just rely on Mayor as we saw last season.

I emailed the club with the name of a young midfielder who can score and assist in goals after he was released by Birmingham. He was loaned out last season to Yeovil but was not really used. He then went to Wealdstone in the new year but the pandemic happened.
