we were impressive in the first 20-30 minutes and really should have been up by 2-0 in that time but as Croatia found their rhythm England started to hold back. Sterling's goal came at the right moment Croatia dont have fire power to have tested Pickford lucky for us. Scotland havent either which is good.

I am not a Mings fan but I thought he played well today. My man of the match would have been between Stering, Philips and Mount with Philips just edging it. The only disappointing player was Kane in the whole team.

Phillips gets my vote. He put himself on the map today and no doubt some of the greedy super league twats will be sniffing around him if he continues putting in the performances.

I forgot Kane was playing until about fifty minutes but saying that I'd stick with him because he will score goals very unlucky not to have one last night.

If Kane wants his big money move he will want to have a good tournament and get on that golden shoe table as much as poss.

What do you reckon for semi finals? I would say England, Belgium, Portugal, France. Didn't think Spain were all that but maybe Italy as a wild card. Mbappe looks like a shoe in for golden boot.

Spain are better than the Sweden game showed i feel. They just got to convert the impressive possession into shots on target. Certainly i wouldnt have them as faves to win it as they are in that transition period after that great run they had winning the euro's twice and the world cup.

Germany always start slow and step and one thing i wont miss about watching Germany in the future is low scratching and sniffing his balls on the the touchline.. time and a place for that and its not on tv for the world to see.

France will win this i feel they are too good and i dont think they even hit top gear to beat Germany.

Agree about France and another thing to factor in is any of the top four could end up playing each other in the knockouts early on. I still wouldn't rule out Portugal Ronaldo is a match and competition winner and shows no signs in letting his foot off the gas. Wales have no chance despite Bale and Ramsey.

your right they cant be ruled out nor can Italy they are criminally being overlooked and worth a punt if you like a gamble.


Christian Eriksen is having a internal de fib fitted which is normal for cases such as his own as irregular heart rhythm could trigger this again.

That's pretty much all but confirmed not that it was in any doubt that he wont be playing again there is simply no way he would be allowed too certainly not in serie A. Huge shame as he's a great player but im sure in the scheme of things retiring from playing at 29 is far better than the alternative. At least now he gets to spend many more happy years with his family and friends and take up coaching.
