What follows is purely hypothetical.

How would the panel interpret 3 ambitious signings made on some sort of emergency loan or some other basis?

I see this as having 2 possible interpretations:

1. All worries re finance are spurious;
2. It's a desperate gamble being made to try to snare the play-off money for obvious reasons.

If it happens, of course, and I am not saying that it will.

Or it might have happened already in the shape of Obadeyi, Banton and Parsons. Not that I'm saying that it has.

Did I mention the word hypothetical? I did. Good.

I asked if TW's money was brought in to fund a 'Lavery' type to push us on through the run in and you replied that we didn't need new players (just after a 5-0 win). Now one defeat and hypothetically you want 3!!

Tongue in check of course!

Assuming finances aren't a problem (which to be fair they're not looking good), I'm not particularly bothered about play-offs/promotion this year. I'd sooner we concentrated on keeping the better half of this squad together and stormed to promotion next season with a better chance of surviving in League 1 when we get there.

If finances are a problem and we're heading towards admin I'm torn between 'going for it' and 'cutting our losses' now. Would promotion see a higher wage bill? Would money earned via play-offs secure our future? Impossible to answer.

I think you're hypothesising a bridge too far here Frank.
I believe Brent really does have problems, let alone the club, and Sheridan only said 3 weeks ago he had already gone to full budget with too many players.
Branston actually leaving a few weeks early is a talking point though. Seems a strange one that. Maybe did a deal and freed up enough club cash for a month's loan from someone ? But I doubt it.
