Rumours currently on Twitter that he's out for a month.

If so will up the stakes for Brent in terms of paying for decent cover.

too right we're fecked as bittner is shit and with our defence being poor in the last 2 games york must be creaming themselves. I'm hoping this is just another nelson broken ankle lie that got passed around but never the less why we dont have a decent backup keeper is dreadful.

A decent chairman will do all he can to help the manager secure a replacement for Luke.

Unfortunately we have Brent.

I bet York were creaming it!! Luke out, no RR, no Boateng. Argyle fans shouting at JB about his purse strings because without those 3 we were fcuked totally and facing relegation. Quite right because without those 3 .... wait a mo ... we won today. HMmmmmm???

And your point is? It's about a season, not one game. The great Brian Clough had very strong views on the matter-one of his tenets was that a really good keeper is worth about 10 points a season. Nothing against Bittner, haven't seen enough of him to make a judgement but his career record wouldn't seem to suggest that he is remotely in the same street as Luke and that could be very costly if the injury keeps him out for a lengthy spell.

Yes we know!Jimmy saved us,! Bittner is better than Joe Hart....The Miracle worker Adams might well get the club promoted, if he does it will be despite of your friend JB not because.

Bittner is not a FL goalkeeper. In all honesty, we need better if Luke is unavailable for the next match.

Is it a hip flexor or a groin injury?

PLYMOUTH Argyle manager Derek Adams has no immediate plans to sign a goalkeeper on loan because of an injury to Luke McCormick.

But Adams explained that the 32-year-old suffered a groin injury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Millwall last Tuesday.

Bittner, however, stated after the League Two triumph over York that McCormick had been sidelined by a hip flexor problem.

Derek Adams hoping injury to Plymouth Argyle 'keeper Luke McCormick is not serious

PLYMOUTH Argyle manager Derek Adams has no immediate plans to sign a goalkeeper on loan because of an injury to Luke McCormick.

James Bittner made his full Football League debut, at the age of 33, in the 2-1 win away to York City on Saturday after McCormick was ruled out.

Adams did not divulge many details about the injury to McCormick, who had started 74 successive matches for the Pilgrims since the beginning of 2014/15.

McCormick had hurt an ankle in the warm-up before Argyle's 2-0 FA Cup first round defeat by Carlisle United at Home Park the previous Saturday.

But Adams explained that the 32-year-old suffered a groin injury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Millwall last Tuesday.

McCormick played the whole game at Home Park but made one uncharacteristic error as Argyle were beaten 5-3 in the southern area quarter-final.

Bittner, however, stated after the League Two triumph over York that McCormick had been sidelined by a hip flexor problem.

Regardless of the exact nature of the injury to Argyle's first choice shot-stopper, it must be a concern for Adams.

McCormick did not make the long trip to York, with second-year apprentice Cory Harvey providing cover for Bittner on the substitutes' bench.

Adams said: "He (McCormick) got a groin injury in the game the other night.

"I have kept him out of today's game and we will see how he progresses before next week (Argyle will play Exeter City at Home Park on Saturday).

"We are hopeful it's not too bad and he will heal quickly, and we can get him back sooner rather than later."

Asked by Herald Sport whether he would look into signing a 'keeper on loan to replace McCormick, Adams replied: "Not at this stage, no.

"We are hopeful we can get him back, and we have got James who has been excellent today."

Bittner was on the brink of keeping a clean sheet against York until Ben Godfrey scored a late, late goal for the Minstermen.

Prior to that, he had been given good protection by Argyle's solid defence, led by captain Curtis Nelson.

Bittner made one sharp low save from Godfrey shortly before the 17-year-old did find the net with the first goal of his career.

Argyle started the game so strongly that Bittner was hardly troubled in the first half.

He had to deal with one looping, deflected shot from York midfielder James Berrett and some back passes but was about it.

Adams said: "We defended well but we played on the front foot, and we have done that for most of the season now with the way we pass the ball and interchange, and create chances."

The Pilgrims' boss admitted he was disappointed his side had conceded such a late goal, which came in the ninth minute of stoppage time.

There was a long break in play during the second half because of an injury to York centre-back Dave Winfield, who was eventually stretchered off with his neck in a brace.

Adams said: "York put a lot of high balls in at the end, and that was always going to be the case with the injury time there was.

"That caused a wee bit of a problem but we are here for three points and we have got that.

worth pointing out aswell that James Bittner has only just had back surgery and still not 100% so it makes the reluctant ones stance on not allowing del bhey to bring in a keeper till January on loan even more of a pisstake.
